The world will know and believe when we are ONE!

Promoting the Priority of Unity to fulfill the prayer of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 17) is an indispensable endeavor.  It will have a profound impact on your church community and beyond. Here’s a process to help you achieve this:

Step One: Familiarize Yourself with Biblical Unity

Begin by immersing yourself in the teachings of Biblical Unity. Using The Church In Hickory website’s resources as well as other reputable sources, study and understand the principles of unity as described in the Bible. Take notes, engage in discussions, and seek to grasp the core concepts of unity as taught in Scripture. This foundational understanding will be essential as you move forward.

Step Two: Pray for Wisdom and Guidance

Recognize that promoting unity is a spiritual endeavor.  Therefore, seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Spend time in prayer, asking for wisdom and discernment in how to permeate your sphere of influence with the Priority of Unity. Be open to insights and inspiration that may come during your prayer times.

Step Three: Actively Promote Unity

Now, it’s time to put your understanding and spiritual guidance into action:

              •          Prayer for other Local Congregations:  Take time in your church services to pray by name for other congregations in your community so that they may successfully carry out the kingdom ministry for which they have been called.

           •          Messages: If you’re a preacher or speaker, incorporate messages on unity into your sermons or talks. Use real-life examples and stories to illustrate the importance of unity in the Christian community.

             •          Discipleship Lessons: If you lead discipleship groups, design lessons focusing on unity and its significance in the Christian faith. Encourage group members to apply these principles in their daily lives.

             •          Social Media: Use social media platforms to share quotes, verses, and stories emphasizing unity. Engage with your online community through discussions and posts centered around unity.

             •          Personal Communication: In your personal interactions, be a living example of unity. Practice active listening, empathy, and forgiveness in your relationships. Encourage others to do the same.

             •          Events: If your church hosts events, consider organizing gatherings that promote unity. These could be fellowship meals, community service projects, or conflict resolution and reconciliation workshops.

             •          Bulletin, Announcements, and Newsletters: Use your church’s communication channels to highlight the Priority of Unity. Include articles, testimonials, or announcements that celebrate instances of unity within your congregation.

By consistently integrating the Priority of Unity into various aspects of your church and personal life, you’ll contribute to a stronger, more harmonious Christian community that reflects the teachings of Christ. Remember to stay committed to this cause; over time, you’ll see positive changes and a deeper sense of unity among those you influence.
